Intimate Dunes

I took this image one December morning in Death Valley, on my very first trip to the dunes. Having spent most of the morning shooting wide angle vistas, I wanted to try something different and put on my telephoto lens. The effect was mesmerizing, like noticing for the first time that infinity is right at you fingertips if you just look close enough.
