In My Dream
Sometimes the best photo is literally right behind you. That morning I was shooting the Tatra Mountains at sunrise from a canonical location in Pieniny known probably to every landscape photographer in Poland and Slovakia. The sun has risen, the shot was OK but nothing spectacular. I thought I was done for the day and started packing up my equipment. Turning around to my pack on the ground, I glanced at what was going on behind me and couldn't believe it! The horizontal light beams were playing chase and catch with the fast moving clouds around the hills. It was so dreamlike and so ephemeral. I reassembled my camera and tripod in panic and frantically looked for a composition that would do justice to this incredible spectacle. I guess I caught it just in time.
